Fashion Shows are Neat

Wow what a hectic day it was today…. after staying up till 2:50 am it was hell waking up today morning. Woke up to a pleasant surprise where A called me up at 6 am in the morning without realising the time difference in Dubai; chatted to him for a while then drifted off to sleep unknowingly and woke up with a jolt at 7:30 am. Despite my best attempts at keeping awake kept drifting off to sleep on the chair but managed to get ready and get to class by 9 am.

The lectures were pretty intresting with my subject of intrest being covered which was Security and Trust. Our lecturer DC seemed to be an intresting charachter and despite being his first year at University of Kent I think he did a good job. PFL still was present in the class though and we thought he was just making sure things went ok. The topics covered in the second half of the lecture was highly technical and would require a lot of work to be done on our part as self study.

For this module we would have to undergo a piece of ticked practical work (will provide a link to the practical specifications soon). Should be fun and we would learn a lot about setting up LDAP servers for authentication and interacting with them. The whole class was split into three groups; M and N were in my group and I guess things should go pretty smooth as they both are very dedicated in their work.

After classes headed off with my housemates D and J to the Fashion Show organised by the Asian Society of our university and the whole event was packed. There was even a Belly Dancing performance and an absolutely amazing Salsa performance by some couple. At one point the performers from Fairtrade came on and they did something no one thought they would….. the lead girl of the catwalk was walking on the ramp and she appeared to be topless with only a see through material cloth covering her chest and two men supporting the cloth of item trailing off her shoulders. She then tugged on the cloth and her assets were on public display for everyone to see. Upon turning around her back bore the lettering, “I would rather be bare than Unfair”. The whole idea seemed ingenious and should really give them credit for it.

As if I did not have enough excitment for the day we came back home and D, J, D and me drove down to ASDA to do some food shopping. Picked up loads of stuff and spent over an hour strolling in there wasting time and laughing our heads off.

Reached home by around 11 pm and felt absolutely knackered. Oh also managed to watch The Myth starring Jackie Chan and  Malika Sherawat. Pretty decent movie but kind of over rated. Hell the jaw dropping Malika does not even strutt her stuff well.
