Night life in Edinburgh is nice

Today was the day I was going to go to Edinburgh (a city in Scotland) and had to do missions to wake up early. Got up by 7:30am and was out to the bus stop near the Venue. Luckily a Taxi-Bus (Taxi’s that take you to the town center and back to the Uni for £1 each way). From the city center the Canterbury West train station was a short walk.

At the station purchased a Return Saver ticket to and from Gatwick Airport train station; so in general I could return anytime between thirty days between the two stations.

The train journey lasted 50 minutes to Tonbridge where i had to change platforms and wait for eight minutes before getting the next train to Gatwick. The second half of the train journey took around 51 minutes.

The check in process turned out to be pretty straight forward with them requiring only the Booking Reference Number and my passport as Photographic ID. Had a lot of time to kill (around two hours) so went out and purchased Jack Collins – Lovers & Players which I was reading inside a pub there while eating my English Breakfast.

Flight was pretty smooth and was over before I knew it. Even managed to get out of the airport in under five minutes of leaving the plane. A quick bus shuttle (lasting maybe 20 minutes) too me to the City Center where i met AJ.

AJ’s place was all cozy and met his house mates and ate a nice home cooked meal for the first time after leaving Dubai.

After relaxing for a while we decided to go party. Went to this pub (forget the name) where we downed almost four pints of strong German Beer (They actually had a 7% alcohol content compared to the others that are only 5%). This specific brand of beer I actually liked and did not feel it was too sour.

We hooked up with B (one of AJ’s mates who had come down to Dubai to meet us) and P another of AJ’s mates and after a few more drinks went off to Burger King so they could eat.

The nite then lead us to Punana which was doing massive pitchers (with almost 3/4 of the Jug filled with spirits) for £10 which I felt was a good deal. We had two of those amongst all of us and we were pretty wasted by then.

At some point we decided to call it a night and hailed a Taxi home. All of us then sat down and talked for a while and then fell off to sleep.

All in all it was a very good experience and a nice change from Canterbury (which i feel is a village not a city). Should be here till Sunday morning when I have to fly back so lets see what the events of the day leads to.
